Marya Kowal has been writing since she was three, although she no longer writes in crayon on the walls most days. A lifelong reader, she is fascinated by a vast array of subjects and enjoys the research as much as the writing. Freelance writing and editing has allowed her to indulge her interest in learning about new people and places while earning enough money to feed the gazillion guppies her children now own. She counts herself a very lucky woman.
